Bledsoe Middle School wins grant for new student fitness center
Bledsoe County Middle School celebrated a new addition this week with a massive pep rally.
The county's health services supervisor Michelle Rains, applied for a $100,000 fitness grant and won. Only four states were selected this year, with three winning schools per state. It's called the DON’T QUIT! Fitness Centers through the National Foundation for Governors’ Fitness Councils. Jake Steinfeld is the Chair of the organization.
Bledsoe County officials say it is an incredible opportunity for Bledsoe Middle to be selected. They submitted a video and beat over 500 schools. The equipment is already in use.
