UPDATE: Concert for a Cause, sponsored by our radio partners at US101, was held Friday night to help a Dade County sheriff’s major who was injured in the line of duty.

The concert, which featured Chris Lane and Smithfield, was held for Major Tommy Bradford at The Signal in downtown Chattanooga.

Major Bradford was severely injured when a suspect who was on the run from police ran over him during a chase.

Bradford was at the concert and said he is still in awe at the outpour of support from the community.

"Healing wise, it makes you feel better,” Major Bradford said. “So in return it makes you want to get up and do things and not dwell on the past.”

A portion of the money raised at the event will go to Steps 2 Hope, an organization that is working to renovate part of Major Bradford's home during his road to recovery.
