Good afternoon Tennessee Valley,

Steady rainfall will continue for much of the afternoon from I-75 and east. Rainfall amounts of 1" to 2" are possible by tonight for Chattanooga. Rain looks to increase west of I-75 by tonight again, bringing additional rainfall through early Tuesday morning. Watch for low water crossings and frequent flooded roads this afternoon. Temperatures today will top near normal, 80, with southeast winds of 6-9 mph and a low tonight of 70. Due to today's rainfall, patchy dense fog will be likely both Tuesday and Wednesday mornings.

Rain will taper off early tomorrow, with showers redeveloping in the afternoon. It looks likely for rain to continue Wednesday too, where an addition 1" is possible. It's likely many spots will pick up 3" of rain by Thursday this week. The  cold front looks to arrive on Thursday-while it will be a battle of cool air. Those west of I-75 have the better shot of getting a dip in humidity Thursday night-Friday.

A preliminary look to the upcoming weekend brings a slight rain chance Saturday, with temperatures in the upper 70s. At this time, Sunday looks to be the warmer day in the middle to upper 80s!
