Scheduled work on the U.S. 27 widening project across the Olgiati Bridge will reduce the lanes open to drivers starting Thursday morning.

Crews will close the outside (right) lanes for both northbound and southbound traffic according to TDOT spokeswoman Jennifer Flynn.

The work, on the bridge struts underneath the bridge, means the lane reductions will be in effect from Thursday, September 20, 2018 and continue on Friday, September 21, 2018 between 9:00am and 4:00pm EDT.

Work should be completed Friday, but could be extended through Saturday, Flynn says.

Additionally, some ramps along U.S. 27 will be affected during the work.

The on-ramp traffic from Manufacturers Road to U.S. 27 South at the Olgiati Bridge will remain open, but ramp traffic will be required to stop before merging onto U.S. 27 South.

The on-ramp traffic from 4th Street to U.S. 27 North at the Olgiati Bridge will remain open, but motorists will be required to stop before merging onto U.S. 27 North.

Additional temporary ramp closures or traffic shifts may be necessary as this work continues on different sections of the bridge.

Drivers should pay attention and obey signs especially because of the changing conditions in the work zone.
