Good morning/afternoon Tennessee Valley,

So when will it start to feel like September? It looks like at least for another 5 days. Look for lots of sun today with temperatures warming to 90-91. The heat index will reach the mid-90s through Thursday.  A pop-up shower can't be ruled out in the afternoon while storms and severe weather are not expected.

The end of the week will bring an increased chance for rain. At this time, it's only a 20% chance for rain on Friday. At this time, I'm seeing Friday afternoon, mainly after 3PM with the best chance west of I-75 in the evening. A few showers and t-storms will be possible for high school football.

This weekend will bring a chance for rain, especially across north Georgia and north Alabama. Saturday's rain will bring 0.25" to 0.50" for most. An additional 0.50" to 0.75" is likely come Sunday. There will be some dry time to get outdoor yard work done, making the weekend not a washout.

Monday and Tuesday of next week look to bring more rain chances with what appears to be a decent cold front on the horizon. This should keep temperatures a tad cooler near normal in the mid to low 80s. A preliminary look to the end of next week could bring some cooler and more welcomed fall temperatures. Stay tuned as newer model data comes in over the coming days!
