A new traffic pattern is being put in place for two downtown Chattanooga intersections.

The Chattanooga Department of Transportation said they will convert the two-way stop intersections of West Main Street at Carter Street/ Reggie White Boulevard and Carter Street at West 13th Street/ Highway 127 off-ramp to all-way stop intersections.

Crews will begin working Tuesday at 8:30 am.

Drivers are advised by CDOT that there may be congestion and some traffic may be rerouted through Wednesday as lanes are shifted.

CDOT asks that drivers approach the intersections with caution. They should also be prepared to stop for the new stop signs on West Main Street and Carter Street.
