Rossville businesses damaged by BB gun shots
Two Rossville businesses were targeted by suspects with BB guns last week.
It happened in the 800 block of Chickamauga Avenue on Thursday around 11:30 a.m.
Larry Rose, owner of Rose Kawasaki, says this isn't the first time his business has been hit, but this time someone shot three times at his business in broad daylight. He says he was working when all of sudden he heard a loud noise.
“I heard two loud bangs down here and when I say bang, I mean like slapping the glass real loud and then a third one,” Rose explained.
As Rose called 911, he says he saw an SUV and a red boxy car drive off. RoSSVILLE POLICE SAY THE SHOOTER USED A BB gun. ROSE SAID HE NOTICED THE THIRD Bb LANDED iNCHES AWAY FROM WHERE HIS MOM USUALLY SITS IN THE SHOP.
Moments later, he noticed the third BB hit the glass window, which was inches away from where his mom usually sits in the shop.
“That bothered me more knowing that five minutes prior to that shot she had been sitting there,” says Rose.
But Rose says he wasn't the only one targeted. Shortly after, the shooter shattered windows at another business a few doors down.
“I mean you have people walking on the street, you’ve got the postman making deliveries of the mail, you have a gentleman down here that sweeps his lot and cleans his lot. I mean about that time anyone could’ve been hurt,” says Rose.
Rose doesn't know who the shooter is or why they fired shots. Rossville police believe the shooter may be a teenager. They've made arrests for this crime in the past, they say it's hard to catch someone who shoots out of a moving car.
“You could either go into a hole and hide or you can continue along with your life and just pray that no one gets hurt,” says Rose.
There are no suspects at this time.
Police say whoever is responsible could be charged with criminal damage to property.
