Dunlap fire chief crashes fire truck while responding to call
The chief of the Dunlap Fire Department ran a fire truck into a ditch on Wednesday while he was on his way to a smoke investigation.
It happened around 4:30 p.m. on Kelly Cross Road.
Fire officials say Chief Norman Hatfield was on his way to a home on Boston Town Road when the accident happened.
Officials say Chief Hatfield ran off the road after making an uphill turn onto Kelly Cross Road.
Thankfully, Chief Hatfield was not hurt.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol responded to the scene to investigate the crash, along with the Sequatchie County Sheriff’s Office.
