UPDATE: Several Tennessee Valley electric crews are helping restore power to areas impacted by Tropical Storm Florence.

Crews with the Athens Utilities Board have been working in Greenville, North Carolina. 

"While the people of Greenville have plenty to do to recover from the storm, the city was spared significant damage, such that the utility there has released the AUB crews to help elsewhere," an AUB spokesperson explained.

AUB crews are now relocating to Fayetteville, North Carolina, to help get the lights back on..

The Sequachee Valley Electric Cooperative is working with Four County Electric Membership Corporation in North Carolina to help with power outages.

PREVIOUS STORY: Electric crews from the Tennessee Valley will be heading to the East Coast to help repair the power outages that are expected from Hurricane Florence.

Officials with Sequachee Valley Electric Cooperative (SVEC) say line crews will leave Jasper on Wednesday morning to travel to North Carolina.

The crews will be going to Four County Electric Membership Corporation in Burgaw near Wilmington.

It’s unclear how long the SVEC crews will be in Burgaw.
