Good morning/afternoon Tennessee Valley,

It will be a mostly cloudy afternoon with temperatures in the middle 80s. Showers are possible today, but limited to the Blue Ridge mountains from 1PM to 5PM today. Rainfall amounts in these locations will range from 0.10" to 0.25" by evening. Thanks to a light northeast wind today, dew points will stay in the mid 60s, making it feel a tad more comfortable.

Tomorrow, temperatures will warm to the upper 80s to near 90. Dew points will rise to the 70s tomorrow, which means the heat index in the 90s returns. There is an isolated rain chance again on Wednesday, from 10AM through 6PM in the evening. Areas in north Georgia will have a better rain chance on Wednesday, while rainfall amounts will be meager again under 0.25" total.

By Thursday, highs in the 90s return. The rain chances look minimal for the end of the week, and for the start of the upcoming weekend.

As Hurricane Florence continues to track towards the east coast this week, we'll be watching for winds picking up locally in the Tennessee Valley by Sunday. Tropical Storm Force winds are forecast to increase late Wednesday night-early Thursday morning for the eastern shore of North Carolina. At this time, it looks like 20-30 mph wind gusts may be possible in the highest elevations from Florence in the Tennessee Valley by Sunday night. At this time, the rain chance this weekend looks to be Sunday evening-Sunday night. As new information comes in, please check back periodically.
