UPDATE: House fire damages home in Dallas Bay
UPDATE: A team effort Friday morning by the Dallas Bay Volunteer Fire Department and the Red Bank Fire Department help control a house fire and limit the damage to a hole on Dallas Place.
No one was inside except a cat that firefighters were able to rescue with no injuries.
“Flames came pouring out the front windows when firefighters broke the windows to ventilate the residence, “
Dallas Bay VFD Chief Markus Fritts said in a news release.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined and will be investigated by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.
No injuries were reported but HCEMS was on the scene for any potential injuries to firefighters.
Damages are listed at $60,000.
The American Red Cross was notified to help with the homeowner’s immediate needs.
PREVIOUS STORY: An early morning house fire on Hixson Pike required firefighters from the Dallas Bay VFD to be dispatched Friday, near Dallas Hollow Road.
There's no word on injuries.
Drivers should avoid the area, since the 9100 block of Hixson Pike is closed to traffic.
