IMPORTANT NOTICE TO GAS CUSTOMERS
Field Inventory of Dalton Utilities Natural Gas Distribution System
Dalton Utilities will conduct a field inventory of its gas distribution system beginning August 22, 2018, continuing through February 2019. The Pond Engineering Company has been hired to perform the inventory, and will be working throughout the Dalton Utilities’ natural gas distribution system to collect GIS (geographic information system) data.
“We want our customers to be aware that employees of POND will be on their property collecting GPS points for a variety of the utilities’ gas components. “They will have approximately 6 different double manned vehicles working in different locations,” said Utility spokesperson Kay Phillips. “The employees will also have clear identification as POND employees and carry a letter from Dalton Utilities explaining their connection with us.”
The inventory will require physically visiting each meter, all above ground and below ground equipment that Dalton Utilities owns throughout its gas service territory.
“We do not want customers to become alarmed by the presence of these employees,” continued Phillips. “Homeowners do not need to be home, and the crews will not need to enter your home or business.”
