Family increases reward in search for missing Soddy-Daisy man
A Hamilton County family is hoping an increase in reward money will help them find a man from Soddy-Daisy.
The family reported Jerry Guess missing two months ago.
They say he was last seen getting into a car on Daisy Dallas Road after leaving his mother's house in May. The 42-year-old hasn't been seen or heard from since.
"You just can't imagine what goes through your mind. What might have been or what they might have done or where he might be laying or whatever," Guess' sister Rhonda King said.
King said her brother has never gone a day without talking to his 16-year-old daughter and believes whoever he got into the car with knows more about what happened.
"I've heard that he was thrown out over a cliff in Lookout Valley and Montlake, I mean you hear all kinds of different stuff. But somebody out there knows exactly where he's at," King added.
Shaylee Stewart has helped look for her dad using search parties and social media. She said he helps her cope.
"It just feels good knowing that I can kind of still talk to him, whether or not he's getting them, it kind of just helps," Stewart added.
After two months of waiting, Guess' family is now desperate to know something, no questions asked.
They say anything will bring them one step closer to closure.
Guess' family is now offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to him. After one week, the reward will go to $500.
