UPDATE: Flash Flood Watch for some counties in the Tennessee Valley
A Flash Flood Watch is in place for counties in north Georgia, and in Tennessee east of I-75.
UPDATE: Periods of rain will continue this evening, fading overnight. Most of the rain will fall along and east of I-75 in Tennessee and Georgia, and in Georgia between I-75 and I-59. Lows will be around 70º in Chattanooga.
FLASH FLOOD WATCH until 8 a.m. EDT Friday: All of north Georgia, eastern Polk County in Tennessee, and Cherokee County in North Carolina.
Monday will start with some drizzle and fog. Then the afternoon will be partly sunny and warmer with a slight rain chance and highs in the mid-80s. Rain chances remain low for Friday night with some clouds and lows in the upper 60s.
Looks like we'll return to more typical summer weather for the weekend. Look for hit-and-miss thunderstorms popping up in the afternoons and early evenings, fading after dark. Highs will warm into the upper 80s.
