UPDATE: Terrell Owens to give Pro Football Hall of Fame speech at UTC Saturday
UPDATE: Get ya popcorn ready, it's Hall of Fame weekend in the Scenic City.
"Well, I can't be more grateful, you know, for the University of Tennessee Chattanooga for affording me the opportunity to receive one of the greatest honors right here where it all began," Owens said
But before Terrell Owens takes the stage at 3:17 pm sharp Saturday at McKenzie Arena, he had some business to take care of first. And, that was taking the young men from the Boys to Men organization here in Chattanooga on a little shopping spree.
Each kid was given $125 to and grab whatever they wanted off the shelves at Dick's Sporting Goods, and Channel 3 caught up with T.O. beforehand to see what it meant to do something nice for the kids, but also what this whole weekend means to him.
"I don't know where I would be today if it wasn't for those opportunities. And so for me to be here and to accomplish what I've accomplished and come back and give back to the community, especially surrounding the honor of being inducted into the Hall of Fame, number one, it means a lot, not only to myself but obviously to this community."

Owens tweeted Tuesday that he will give his speech at the UTC McKenzie Arena on Saturday, August 4. The event will be free and open to the public.

Owens recently announced he would be forgoing the official induction ceremony in Canton. He said in Tuesday's announcement that he wants to celebrate in a place that means a lot to him.
"I’m proud to be a Moc, and I'm honored to be able to share this experience with my family, friends, teammates and fans at the place that provided me an opportunity beyond high school and where I truly began to find myself as an athlete," Owens added. "Thank you to everyone who has supported my celebration decision. I look forward to seeing you all in
