Two arrested for allegedly locking puppy in trunk in Panama City
PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WFLA/WJHG) – Two people in Florida are facing animal cruelty charges after allegedly locking a puppy inside their trunk.
According to police, a man hit the dog several times, locked it in a kennel and put the kennel inside the trunk of the car and closed it.
The man and woman then went inside the Panama City mall.
Police had to break open a side window, pull down the back seat and get the dog out of the car.
Animal control officials have the puppy, who is said to be in good condition.
The two arrested were visiting from out of town.
They were booked in the Bay County Jail.
