E.L. Ross Elementary wins Beacon School learning award
Leading EdTech company Imagine Learning recently announced E.L. Ross Elementary School in Cleveland, Tennessee as one of their distinguished “Beacon School” award winners. Students at E.L. Ross worked throughout the year on the Imagine Language & Literacy program, completing lessons and reaching individualized academic goals. The Beacon School award was earned by less than 2% of Imagine Language & Literacy schools nationwide. Schools earning the Beacon School award demonstrate exceptional usage, innovative implementation of the Imagine Learning Language & Literacy program and strong student language and literacy growth.
“E. L. Ross created before and after school opportunities for students to use the Imagine Learning program, and students have shown tremendous growth within the program which is translating to growth in other academic areas as well,” shared Christy Duncan, the ESL Coordinator for Cleveland City Schools.
“We know from research that regular usage of Imagine Learning programs helps students reach toward their learning potential,” expressed Lisa Wise, Motivational Manager at Imagine Learning. “We’re thrilled to acknowledge E.L. Ross students for the work that they’ve done this year and for the growth that they’ve experienced.”
E.L. Ross students, lead Imagine Learning teacher, Jacqueline Brown, and principal Lisa Earby received the Beacon School award on May 16th from Imagine Learning's area partnership manager. Key district leaders attending the award presentation included Director of Schools, Dr. Russell Dyer, Elementary and School Counseling Supervisor, Kellye Bender and ESL Coordinator, Christy Duncan.
