Summer officially here, greeted by scattered storms
Good Thursday. Summer is here! We welcome the change in season with a pretty dramatic change in weather. We will replace the heat and humidity (temporarily) with scattered showers and thunderstorms through the afternoon and into the early evening. There is a marginal risk of some of the storms approaching severe levels. The biggest threat from storms today will be from heavy rain, lightning, and gusty winds. I don't expect any tornadoes with storms today. The clouds and rain will keep temps in the low 80s this afternoon.
Friday we will start rain-free, but more scattered thunderstorms will move in Friday afternoon/evening. There is a slightly elevated risk of those storms becoming severe, so we will need to be very watchful for our Friday commute home. The storms will end during the early evening, and you should have okay weather for your Friday night. The high Friday will reach a tolerable 86.
Most of the rain Saturday looks as though it will stay to the south allowing us to warm to 87 in the afternoon. I will put the rain chance at 20% for Saturday. We will be back up to 90 Sunday with more scattered storms Sunday afternoon.
