One injured in Cherokee Co. shooting
The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting.
According to Sheriff Derrick Palmer, the sheriff's office responded to a possible domestic situation on Bryson Branch Road just after 7:30 am Tuesday.
All responding deputies were notified that a person at home may have been shot. They found a 39-year-old man suffering from at least one gunshot wound.
The man was taken to a hospital and later flown to another. His condition is unknown.
The sheriff's office interviewed several people and searched the residence.
"At this time I will not comment further concerning this investigation as it is ongoing. I can say that we are not looking for any additional person(s) of interest in this case. The team work displayed today between law enforcement and Emergency Services is outstanding and we appreciate the level of professionalism displayed by all today. As always these are difficult cases on everyone involved," Sheriff Palmer said.
