(GoMocs.com)- The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga football team begins Training Camp for the 2017 season on Monday, July 23.  New head coach Tom Arth and the Mocs open with a 2:30 p.m. session at the Murphy-Haugerud Football Practice Complex at Scrappy Moore Field.
UTC is coming off a 9-4 record in 2016, including its third straight trip to the FCS Playoffs and a No. 10 final national ranking.

"We are ready to get camp started," stated Arth, who was hired on Dec. 20, 2016 as the 23rd head coach of the Mocs.  "It has been exciting to see the progression of the guys through the spring and summer, and now it is time to mix in the newcomers and start working towards the first game of the season."

Camp runs until Friday, Aug. 18, just before the start of the fall semester.  The first day in shoulder pads is Friday, July 28, and the first day in full pads is Sunday, July 30.
The first three days of camp start with the upperclassmen at 2:30 p.m. at Scrappy Moore Field.  The freshman and other newcomers hit the turf at 8:00 p.m. also at Scrappy.
UTC is 25-5 in SoCon play over the last four years and has a 36-16 overall record during that time.  It is the most successful four-year run in school history and the first time the Mocs have been in the postseason three years running.
The season opener is set for Saturday, Aug. 26, at 6:30 p.m. (E.D.T) when UTC travels to Montgomery, Ala. to take on Jacksonville State in the Guardian Credit Union FCS Kickoff Classic.  Tickets are on sale now on GoMocs.com or catch the game on ESPN.
