UPDATE: A Graysville boy who disappeared Halloween night has been reunited safely with his family.

The Rhea County Sheriff's Office launched a massive search overnight for 13-year-old, Stanley Brotherton.

After spending a night in the woods, Brotherton was found at this home nearly two miles away from where he lives in Graysville.

Brotherton has autism, Monday night he wandered away from his home without letting anyone know.

Jazzmen Mickel is Brotherton’s sister, she said he's never done anything like this before.

“He’s a little bit slower. He does things on his own, he didn't really see a problem with what he did, he just thought he was going out and exploring. He didn't see that so many people were trying to help him,” Mickel said.

Graysville Police Department launched a search and hundreds of volunteers went door-to-door looking for anyone who might've seen Brotherton.

As night fell family members grew concerned.

"My heart sank completely. I didn't know what to do I was scared,” Mickel described.

After hours of searching with no luck, volunteers took the night off.

Tuesday, Leland Clingan and his wife watched Channel 3 Eyewitness News TODAY noticed a boy matching the description of Brotherton in their backyard.

"When I told her she knew exactly what he was wearing so she knew it was the one they were searching for,” Leland explained.

The couple has a grandson with autism, so they knew how to approach him and contacted authorities.

"I just hugged him I didn't know what to do, my heart was full I’m just glad we found him… He could've went to anyone. Anyone could've said hey and he would've went in. and luckily for us the person was nice and helped him, but it could've been anyone endangering him,” Mickel said.

EMS checked out Brotherton and said he is in excellent condition but a bit shaken up.

Everyone in this community just thankful he's back home.
