UPDATE: Athens Fire Chief suspended for falsification of time sheets
The Athens Fire Department Chief was for three days.
UPDATE: The city of Athens suspended Fire Department Chief Jim Dyer for three days for falsifying payroll timesheets.
The document that details the suspension says that Dyer instructed Captain Tim Schultz to falsify payroll information for firefighter Casey Moses.
It also states that additional "willful and/or intentional falsification of hours worked by you and/or your subordinates will be grounds for immediate suspension and/or termination."

Athens City Manager Mitch more said, “it’s a personnel matter” dealing with “payroll issues” and he wouldn’t say more than that.
Chief Jim Dyer’s suspension began on Wednesday and will run through Friday.
Dyer's suspension is without pay.
