Tips lead to couple busted for meth in AL
Tips from concerned citizens helped the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office arrested two people for meth.
Acting upon tips, the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office investigated a home near Powell, Al where they suspected a meth lab was in operation.
Thursday, deputies received a search warrant to search the property and found two people with methamphetamine, according to a news release.
Eddie Wooten, 37 of Section, AL and Donna Jo Lewis, 36 of Dutton, AL were found inside the home in possession of meth.
During the search, deputies also found stolen items from theft cases in Jackson County, as well as remnants of a meth lab nearby.
Both Wooten and Lewis were arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. This investigation is still ongoing.
Sheriff Harris offered his gratitude to the tipsters, saying “Thanks to the concerned citizens calling in tips, they make these arrests possible."
