Man with long criminal record facing murder, kidnapping charges
Beasley reportedly broke the victim’s phone, choked her and threatened to kill her.
A Chattanooga man with a lengthy criminal record is facing new charges for allegedly kidnapping a woman.
Police arrested 34-year-old Timothy Shuntel Beasley on Thursday in connection to the August 6 incident.
According to court documents, Beasley is accused of taking the woman he knew against her will from East 23rd Street and forcing her into his vehicle. Beasley reportedly broke the woman’s phone, choked her and threatened to kill her. The woman was later able to escape.
Beasley is charged with attempted first-degree murder, aggravated assault and aggravated kidnapping.
He’s being held on a $600,000 bond and has been appointed a public defender ahead of his August 16 court appearance.
