Some Chattanooga teens are in for a great surprise when they return to their recreational center next week.

Thanks to some civic-minded local businesses, the Youth Community Action Project, or YCAP boxing center is getting an interior facelift.  Lowe's, along with Infosystems, IBM, and Special Spaces are creating a new computer lab and learning center. The work is part of Lowe's Heroes Community Outreach program.  they've taken a dilapidated room, and added new counter tops, chairs, cubbies, tables and ceiling tiles.

Lowe's Gunbarrel Road store manager Jesse Wilson said, "I think you've got to give back to the community, and we fell in love with this program, so that's what we're doing."

Lowe's employees say sometimes just changing the environment propels the learning and engages kids in amazing ways. They say they appreciate the YCAP project and the safe atmosphere it provides those who take part in the programs. The improvements will be unveiled on Monday.
