Police: Woman's skull, bones in suitcase still unidentified
Authorities say a human skull and bones found in a suitcase near a Georgia interstate belong to an unidentified woman.
BUFORD, GA (AP) - Authorities say a human skull and bones found in a suitcase near a Georgia interstate belong to an unidentified woman.
Gwinnett police Cpl. Michele Pihera says the county medical examiner's office determined the woman was Hispanic or mixed race, and was between 20 and 30 years old when she died about six months ago.
The office also found that the suitcase contained all of the woman's bones.
Authorities hadn't yet determined on Monday what caused the woman's death.
Pihera says no local reports of missing women match the remains. She says authorities will check with other police agencies near the site.
A construction worker found the suitcase Friday morning in a wooded area along I-985 north of Atlanta.
