The public is invited to visit Norris Dam for its 80th birthday celebration. And for the first time in 15 years, guests can take a walking tour through the dam.

On Friday and Saturday, July 29 and 30, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. there will be family-friendly activities, food trucks, live music and races.

Each attendee will receive a free collapsible water battle at the Welcome Center on the dam grounds. There will also be a hydration station for refillable water options and cooling misters set up around the site.

TVA's own Dr. Energy will be one of the many educational live performances throughout the two-day celebration. And Norris Dam will be open for self-guided tours.

The Knoxville Track Club is also partnering with TVA to host the Big Dam 8K race and a two-mile walk early Saturday morning.

Parking for all the events will be at the Museum of Appalachia with free air conditioned shuttles. The shuttle begins at 9:30 a.m. Friday. Due to the 8K race, the Saturday shuttles begin at 5:15 a.m.
