Keep an umbrella handy. On-and-off showers return for the weekend.

We may see a slight dent in this drought for the next few days as we head through the weekend.  As a cold front approaches, occasional showers and a few thunderstorms develop. There is a good chance everyone will see rain at some point, but the bigger question is how much will we get. Summer thunderstorms can be quite fickle, but keep in mind that storms can produce very heavy rain for a while.

High temperatures hover near normal for late July, in the upper 80 to lower 90s, with lows in the 70s.
