Our security video is from July 19th at the Economy Inn on Brainerd Road. Just after midnight, two black males enter the motel office. Chattanooga Police Officer Victor Miller picks up the story. "When they came in, she thought there were customers," he explained. "Then, they started demanding money, pulled out the gun, and that's when she knew that it was real business."

The 'she' being described is the desk clerk on duty and she was suddenly being robbed at gunpoint. "They immediately demanded for the clerk to get behind the counter and asked her to open the cash drawer; took all the money from the cash drawer," Officer Miller continued. "Then, they asked for her to open the safe. They took all the money and fled the scene."

A witness in an adjacent parking lot saw the duo. The two were dressed in black and in an older model Buick, just before the hit. "We suspect that these two black males were casing the Economy Inn prior to the robbery," said Miller. "Although you may not be able to see their faces in the video, we know that criminals often like to brag about their criminal acts to others."

That could lead to some free cash for you. If you can piece together the clues, if you have heard anything about this crime, you are just a couple of steps away from a Crime Stoppers reward. These two will never know you turned them in. Help get them off the street and return a sense of security to a shaken night clerk. "The victims were not hurt," Miller said. "They were just scared of the gun."
