Former UTC quarterback Jacob Huesman has put pen to paper and will be joining the Canadian Football League this season.

The two-time All-American has signed a contract with the Saskatchewan Roughriders in the CFL.

Huesman, who was a three-time SoCon Offensive Player of the Year, is expected to play quarterback for the Roughriders. Huesman graduated from UTC in 2015 after leading the Mocs to a third straight SoCon title.

At the beginning of May, Huesman was invited to tryout for both the Pittsburgh Steelers' and Tennessee Titans' organizations.

Saskatchewan opens up their season in less than two weeks against the BC Lions on June 11th.

Huesman will be playing with the former Mocs quarterback before him, B.J. Coleman, on Saskatchewan. Defensive lineman A.C. Leonard from Tennessee State and defensive back Xavier Walker from Middle Tennessee will be joining the Roughriders, as well.
