East Ridge woman charged with assaulting man, child and first responders
As officers were attempting to book Hightower at the jail she allegedly kicked an officer in the shin.
An East Ridge woman is facing charges after allegedly assaulting a man, child and several first responders.
According to court documents, officers were called to 14 Laurel Lane where they found 23 year-old Bridgit Hightower. Hightower told officers she was in a fight with her boyfriend and he hit her. Police found the man and a two year-old child locked inside a neighbor’s apartment.
The man had bite marks on his hands and was bleeding. The toddler was bleeding from the mouth and had a swollen eye. The male victim told police Hightower became upset over his cell phone and hit him in the face. He told officers Hightower then struck the child and tossed her across the floor.
Police arrested Hightower on charges of domestic assault and child abuse and neglect.
As officers were attempting to book Hightower at the jail she allegedly kicked an officer in the shin. Officers used pepper spray to regain control and transported Hightower to a local hospital, where she then allegedly kicked a pregnant EMP and bit a paramedic who were treating her.
Hightower was charged with two additional charges of assault on EMS and one charge of assault on police.
