Details surrounding what happened are still limited but officials do not believe this to be gang related
UPDATE: Hamilton County Sheriff's Office have released more details about an early Tuesday morning shooting. HCSO says they were dispatched to 9126 Westminster Circle to investigated a domestic assault. Authorities say Joseph Perkins, 36, was identified as the suspect; however, Perkins left the scene before deputies arrival.
While deputies were obtaining warrants for the arrest of Perkins, they were sent back to the residence at around 6 a.m. to investigate a reported shooting.
A person living at residence told deputies that Perkins had returned to her house and attacked her. She told police that during the altercation with Perkins he was stabbed and shot. Perkins had fled the residence on foot prior to deputies arrival and later emerged from a nearby wooded area and lay in the street.
Perkins was transported to a local hospital by Hamilton County EMS where he is being treated for his injuries. Deputies are told that Perkins’ injuries are not considered life threatening.
The facts surrounding the second altercation are under investigation.
