Kim Comisar has been waiting weeks to see her photos. Though Kim's had her picture taken thousands of times as a model, it's the "after" photos of her new lips that has Kim so excited.
Kim Comisar says, "My lips were getting thinner as I aged and I really just wanted to look like I looked 20 years ago and that was my motivation."
Kim is one of a record number of women who recently underwent lip implant surgery.
Tennessee Valley plastic surgeons tell Channel 3, they are also seeing this trend because it is an easy way for women to get a more youthful look. For years, Kim relied on injections to plump up her lips.
Dr. Robert Houser, plastic surgeon says, "Those have made lip augmentation very easy, and then with newer lip implant technology, that really has taken the industry by storm."
In fact, according to new data from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, a record number of more than 27,000 lip implants took place last year. That's about one every 20 minutes and an increase of nearly 50 percent since 2000.
Dr. David H. Song, Pres. ASPS says, "Clearly lips and the enhancement of the lip and pucker is on the rise, it's very popular and it's become something that patients are desiring more and more."
And today women are seeking a more natural look, a national survey ranked Hollywood's hottest lips and found the most likeable lips belong to Jennifer Lawrence, beating out other celebs with larger puckers.
Dr. Song says, "So, it's not just about fullness, it's about the perfect pucker for each and every patient."
Kim Comisar says, "I'm so happy. I have never regretted it, not one day, I love it."
