Salvation Army volunteers passed out 500 meals to people in need on Thanksgiving throughout Chattanooga.

It took four days to prepare the turkeys and fixing that were all made from scratch at the McCallie Avenue location.

50 volunteers signed up to help, ranging from 5-year-olds to 85-year-olds, including the Christian Motorcycle Association.

Inside each boxed meal was turkey, gravy, mash potatoes, green beans, cranberry sauce, rolls and a slice of pecan pie.

They were hand delivered on Thursday between 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.
