One man is in custody after an officer-involved shooting in Dalton.

The incident began as a domestic dispute around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at 205 Cappes Street.

"During the disturbance, a male subject apparently pointed a weapon at police from an upstairs window. A Dalton officer fired at the subject, not hitting him. The subject was taken into custody," according to department spokesperson Bruce Frazier.

No one was hurt.

The suspect is identified as 20-year old Baldemar Jaramillo-Garci.  He is charged with aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer and reckless conduct.  More charges could be added.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is assisting in the ongoing investigation in accordance with Dalton Police Department policy.
