House fire leaves Tunnel Hill family homeless
A family of six From Tunnel Hill is left homeless after a fire destroyed their home on Dobie Street.
Greg Barton, his wife, and their four children woke up in the middle of the night surrounded by smoke and flames. They escaped through a window before the Catoosa County Fire Department arrived. Barton's young daughter woke up first, alerted the family and then dialed 911. They all watched from a distance as the fire destroyed everything they owned.
Barton's wife is ill and his kids are still in grade school, leaving him to figure out what to do next. He already works two jobs, one is at a local factory. He says, “we didn't have home owners insurance because I couldn't afford it. We lost the double wide trailer we were living in and everything inside it. I'm praying for a miracle and taking it day by day.”
Family and friends donated clothes and used furniture, they are trying to raise funds to buy another trailer for the family to live in. If you would like to help click here: www.gofundme.com/gosky8
