Today, country music fans will have a new Chattanooga station to enjoy, as 96.1 The Beat becomes US101 The Legend.

Changing the station's music format to 90's country means Chattanoogans can hear the same music they “cruised to, made out with, and drove to church in.” The station calls the changeover “The Country That Made Chattanooga Great”.

US101 has a 30+ year heritage playing Chattanooga's Country,” says legendary air personality Dex. “There's just not enough airtime on one radio station to play all the Country that made Chattanooga great, so we made two.”

US101 The Legend will play 80's, 90's, and early 2000's Country that has gotten lost and forgotten by country radio.

“Now Country Fans can get what they want, when they want it”, says Market Manager Jared Stehney. “If you want Today's Country, listen to US101 at 100.7. If you want the classics, now you can listen to US101 The Legend at 96.1,” Dex continued.

Fittingly, the station's first country song they played was Alan Jackson's "Gone Country."

US101 is a radio partner of Channel 3.
