Fog, rain and traffic delays didn't stop many commuters driving through Tennessee's roadways who were determined to get a jump start on their holiday travel Tuesday night.

If you are one of the many that will drive out of town to celebrate Thanksgiving, expect to be sitting behind the wheel a little longer.

TDOT says wet weather could double your drive time and that doesn't include minor or major traffic delays that could pop up along the way.

Houstin Rogers from Oakridge, TN says, "before I left I made sure all the tires were filled, the gas tank was full and I changed the oil.

Sarah Cottingham says, "we're from TN but we are attending the University of Alabama, so we are heading home for the holiday and we will be driving slow to get there."
