Crime Stoppers: Police look for car business burglar
Crime Stoppers and the Chattanooga Police Department are looking for information regarding a burglary at a Hixson Pike car dealership.
Police say the Northgate Auto Brokers on the 4600 block of Hixson Pike was burglarized around 11:15 p.m. on July 16.
Police say a white male suspect approached the back of the business, and forced the door open to gain entry. Once inside, the suspect went to the front office and took items from that office.
"He knew what he was going to get. He walked straight in, walked straight out, and was gone," says Sgt. Daniel Jones. "Once he was into the business, he went straight to the front office of the business, breaks into a file cabinet, got some stuff out of the file cabinet, got some cash out of the file cabinet, and left."
The simple fact that he knew where to find the cash is suspicious police say.
"He's either been there before with someone that purchased a vehicle from them, or he's been there before with a buddy or been with a friend or something of that nature to be able to know where this stuff was stashed," says Jones.
The suspect was wearing a white t-shirt, shorts, and toboggan. A black vehicle was also seen driving around the business numerous times prior to both burglaries.
This is the second time that the business has been broken into.
