State representative Mike Carter announced progress for making improvements to Harrison Bay State Park.

Funding has been approved to proceed with phase two of the park's campground renovation. The improvements include work on an additional 88 campsites.

The improvements include the renovation of various park roadways, updating campsites and bathhouses, as well as upgrading water utility and electrical services.

"These improvements at Harrison Bay will provide both residents and visitors with an even better experience at one of our state's most premier parks," said Representative Carter. "In addition, these projects will provide a boost to the economy through increased tourism to Hamilton County."

The cost of the two projects will be an estimated $4.05 million and will carry over from the previous work recently completed in the camping area.
