Marion Co. infant death ruled homicide
The state medical examiner's office has determined the death of an infant was a murder.
An investigation began in June 2012 when relatives of 3-month-old Colin Eugene Russell made an emergency call, saying the child had stopped breathing.
Colin's body had injuries in various stages of healing, meaning results are consistent with battered child syndrome.
The cause of the baby's death was blunt force trauma to the head and neck.
No charges have been filed at this time.
