CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -- The project bringing new walking paths and green space to Chattanooga started Tuesday.

Demolition began on several Brainerd Road properties owned by the Chattanooga Airport.

An area of now vacant buildings will turn into a well kept solution to the area's flooding. Part of the project is re-grading the property to allow for storm water drainage away from the road.

The project also includes putting in walking paths and greenery to keep the area environmentally friendly and beautiful.

The project should be finished in about two months.
