ATHENS, McMINN COUNTY (WRCB)-- Troopers with the Tennessee Highway Patrol are investigating a crash involving a school bus Monday afternoon.

A THP dispatcher says the crash happened on County Road 116 shortly after 3:30 p.m.

He says a school bus caught the backlash of a head-on collision between a pickup truck and SUV.

The dispatcher says five children suffered non-life threatening injuries and were taken to a hospital as a precaution.

He says the driver of the truck and two from the SUV were taken away in an ambulance.

Details of the crash, and the names of the those involved are unknown at this time.
