ORLANDO, FL (WRCB) - A Cleveland man, arrested by Florida authorities, has been linked to a string of armed robberies.

Officers with the Daytona Beach Shores Department of Public Safety arrested 24 year-old William Carrington Moss and charged him with robbing a hotel about an hour outside Orlando.

Two Bahama House Hotel clerks told police a man wearing a ball cap, gloves and sunglasses entered the lobby with a gun. He threatened the clerks and demanded money. Clerks opened the cash register and the man took off with the entire tray.

Eyewitnesses told police the man dove headfirst through the window of a gray Toyota Corolla. The vehicle fled the scene.

Officers later saw a vehicle matching that description, but it fled before they could stop it. The vehicle was later found abandoned outside a motel. William Carrington Moss was found hiding on the motel's property.

Moss was identified by eyewitnesses. The stolen cash tray, gloves, hat, sunglasses and pistol were found in his possession.

Daytona Beach Shores authorities say Moss is connected to a string of robberies. They are working with Chattanooga police to file additional charges against Moss.

Ross was transported to the Volusia County Branch Jail, charged with Armed Robbery with a Firearm. He's being held on a $20,000.
