Arrest made in fatal Taylor Street shooting
CHATTANOOGA (WRCB)— Chattanooga Police say they have made an arrest in connection with a shooting on Taylor Street that left one dead.
Police spokesperson Jerri Weary says 17-year-old Lonta Buress was arrested at his grandmother's home Sunday morning and charged with criminal homicide.
Buress is accused of shooting Darrius Townsend several times on Taylor Street on the morning of June 1st.
Police say Townsend was hit in the head and back. He later died at Erlanger.
Buress was booked in the Hamilton County Jail.
This was Chattanooga's 12th homicide for 2011.
