There is potential for some winter weather developing over the next 7 days.  First things first.  New Years day will off near normal with lows near 27 tonight and mostly sunny skies and highs near 53.  Winds should be light and out of the south.  Clouds will be increasing Wednesday night and lows will only drop into the upper 30's.  On Thursday winds will pick up and some rain will develop.  I am not expecting any heavy rain.  As the colder air moves in we may see some light snow or sleet later Thursday night.  Right now accumulations would only be possible in the higher elevations.  On Friday it will be colder with highs in the mid 30's but with lots of sunshine.

Saturday should be warmer with mostly sunny skies and highs in the upper 40's  On Sunday another cold front will approach.  This one could kick off some rain showers on Sunday changing over to light snow late Sunday night and into Monday morning.  There is a better chance for some light accumulations with this system especially in the higher elevations.  Temperatures should be falling on Monday into the 30's and then later in the day into the 20's. Winds will make it feel much colder!  Tuesday morning will be cold with many spots in the teens and near 25 in the city.
