CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) – A Florida man faces charges in connection with a bomb threat at Memorial Hospital Thursday.

According to police, Matthew Harwood of Panama City, Florida, called the hospital threatening to "blow the place up."

Harwood's ex-wife is a nursing assistant at Memorial and reports several threatening phone calls from Harwood overnight.

Harwood has history of domestic violence against his now ex-wife in Florida.  

Police had to place the hospital on lock-down for two hours to search for possible device following the threat.

Chattanooga Police have obtained a warrant against Matthew Harwood for the threatening phone calls against his ex-wife. Officers say additional charges for the bomb threat are pending further investigation.
