Update: Midnight traffic fatality in Bradley County
An update on a midnight accident Friday night in Bradley County.
The Sheriff's office has identified the person killed who died in the head on collision. 24 year old Dustin Ledford was one of the drivers. He died at the hospital.
The other driver, Tiffany Isaza was taken to Erlanger.
Officers are still investigating what caused the wreck. This is the 14th traffic death in Bradley County this year.
BRADLEY COUNTY (WRCB) -- A midnight head-on collision has claimed the life of one man because a woman was driving the wrong way on a busy highway in Bradley County.
Bradley County Sheriff's Office spokesman Bob Gault tells Channel 3 Eyewitness News officers learned of a 2002 Ford Taurus traveling northbound in the southbound lane of APD 40. Before officers could locate the car, a head-on collision occurred between Benton Pike and Overhead Bridge Rd when the Taurus struck a 1990 Toyota Camry.
The female driver, traveling the wrong direction, was taken to Erlanger and is still in the ICU. Her condition is improving.
The male driver that was struck was taken to SkyRidge Hospital where he died an hour later.
This is the 14th traffic fatality for Bradley County this year and the third on APD-40.
