For this evening, rain will be the main story with totals around 0.75". Showers are moving into our area now (4:30PM EST) and will continue to track to the NE. The peak for rain across the entire region will be from about 6PM to 10PM EST. Showers will then clear from west to east. By 2AM, only isolated light showers will remain. Temperatures will not drop much during the night hours with lows near 40.

For most in our area, the system will be all rain. However, for those in Fannin and Gilmer Counties in GA, there is a slight chance for freezing rain this afternoon and evening, mainly for the southeastern portions of the counties in the higher elevations. No advisories are active at this point, but please be aware of it especially if driving. Further east, Union County is under a Winter Weather Advisory until 1AM for freezing rain and potential ice accumulation from a trace to 0.1" at elevations above 2000 feet.

For Sunday, isolated drizzle to light showers will remain in the morning hours, becoming more isolated as the day progresses. New rainfall around 0.1". Sunday will be a little warmer with highs near 50. Clouds will remain for Monday with isolated, light showers, but most will be drying out. High temperatures will be in the mid-40s.

Tuesday will have a mix of sun and clouds with highs in the upper 40s, and Wednesday will be mostly sunny with highs in the low 50s. Clouds will increase again on Thursday to mostly cloudy with warmer temperatures in the mid-50s with an isolated chance for rain. Scattered rain showers return on Friday with mostly cloudy skies and highs in the upper 50s. Then, rain will be likely on Saturday.
