A planned power outage is scheduled in Athens Friday night, starting at 11 p.m. The outage will last through 6 a.m. Saturday.

Athens Utilities Board says they need to replace two damaged power poles behind the Kangaroo Express off South Jackson Road.

Athens Utilities Board personnel are notifying those who will be affected by phone or information on your door. They say they know it will cold overnight, but they want to make the repairs before colder temperatures move in throughout the month.
